Stacey-Marie Piotrowski is currently attending the University of Georgia in pursuit of a BFA in Photography. Her creative work explores the gray areas between formal abstraction, documentation, and personal expression. She draws heavily from her own experiences and emotions, translating the deeply personal into a symbolism or mythology that welcomes viewer interpretation as a means of communication. Her concert photography in particular has been used by a number of local bands in their online promotional materials, as well as occasionally reprinted in Athens Flagpole magazine. She has also been a sporadic contributor to the zine community for over a decade. In 2009, she recorded an album under the name whiskey sunrise, which is available for download via Bandcamp.
Born in Pittsburgh PA, Stacey-Marie spent some time alternating between academia and the open road before settling in Athens GA (at least for the time being). She lives in a tiny carriage house with her husband, cat, and piles of books.
